叶长海，上海戏剧学院教授、博士生导师，现任上海市文史研究馆馆员，中国古代戏曲学会会长，上海市作家协会理事，国家级重点学科“戏剧戏曲学”学科带头人。
主要研究方向：中国戏曲史论、古代文学、中国艺术史、艺术教育。专著有《王骥德曲律研究》《中国戏剧学史稿》《画语曲律》《中国艺术虚实论》《曲学与戏剧学》《戏剧：发生与生态》等，主编有《中国京剧》《中国戏剧研究》《大辞海·戏剧电影卷》和《中国曲学大辞典》等，并有文化随笔集《愚园私语》、《叶长海诗文选》等。
曾获首届全国戏剧理论著作奖(1984)、首届文化部优秀专业教材奖(1992)、首届全国高等学校人文社会科学优秀成果奖(1995)、首届文化部文化艺术科学优秀成果奖(1999)等。1992年被授予 “有突出贡献中青年专家”荣誉称号。2006年被授予“上海市高校教学名师”称号。
Ye Changhai is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, currently serving as a member at the Shanghai Institute of Cultural Studies. He is the President of the Chinese Society of Ancient Chinese Opera Studies, a director of the Shanghai Writers Association, and the leader of the national key discipline Drama and Opera Studies.
His main research areas include Chinese opera history and theory, ancient literature, Chinese art history, and arts education. He is the author of several monographs including A Study of Wang Jide's Musical Rhythm, A Draft of Chinese Drama Studies, Artistic Language and Musical Rhythm, On the Real and the Unreal in Chinese Art, Studies in Musical and Dramatic Theory, and Drama: Occurrence and Ecology. He has also served as the chief editor for publications such as Chinese Peking Opera, Chinese Drama Studies, Encyclopedia of Drama and Film, and Encyclopedia of Chinese Musical Studies. Additionally, he has published collections of cultural essays such as Whisperings from the Yu Garden，A Selection of Poetry and Essay of Ye Changhai.
Ye Changhai has been honored with the First National Award for Drama Theory (1984), the First Ministry of Culture Award for Outstanding Professional Textbooks (1992), the First National Award for Outstanding Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences in Higher Education Institutions (1995), and the First Ministry of Culture Award for Outstanding Achievements in Cultural Arts and Sciences (1999). In 1992, he was granted the honorary title of Outstanding Young Expert with Remarkable Contributions, and in 2006, he was awarded the title of Shanghai Outstanding University Teaching Master.
